His breathing was ragged, and his eyes were blank. ![]() Someday the Mavericks will be cured permanently, and we won't have to see any more of this." He looked at X. I, I do it because some day there will be hope. "Some of them just manage to block out the feeling. He was crying, Hub's face twisted into a stern sadness. How do the others do this!?" he exclaimed. "We were ambushed, and then, so, so many people. The rookie held his head in his one good hand. He found himself being assigned to the rookie to keep any oil from bleeding. 'Lan, be careful.' he whispered in his mind. He flinched, feeling the detached sensation of jacking into a Reploid's systems. He managed to turn away and check X's condition for only a brief second. In the Med Bay, Hub handed wrenches, screwdrivers, clamps, anything the doctors needed to keep the survivors alive. "Lan, I can't operate, and you know that!" he exclaimed. Meddy spun around in his seat, eyes going wide. "Just send me in." he said, grabbing the cable, and trying to find the panel in his neck to put it in. He raced over to the opposite table, and laid down. "We don't have time! If we can't get the virus out of these guys, they can't get treated!" he exclaimed. Lan looked at the half-broken Reploid on the table. "Gear in the 5th, but he's not supposed to be exposed to any potential Mavericks until next week." he said. ![]() "Middy! Is there anybody available to jack-in?" he asked the other twin Reploid. Lan barely could focus on his job, he kept feeling the panicked flares coming from the Med Bay. He didn't mean for the utter panic he felt to be sent through with his message. "X!" he exclaimed, catching him just in time. The Maverick tripped, and started yelling with the unbridled rage the virus brought. "I'm sorry!" he exclaimed, and shot her knees, crippling her. The Maverick had broken out of X's grasp, and lunged at the medic team. Hub's panic washed through, unable to send any words. Three of them civilians-' When the link cut off abruptly, Lan stood up. "We got, we got." The rookie started to do the Reploid equivalent of hyperventilating. Hub bent down to a rookie hunter on X's squad. We need a restraint team for the active one. "Three Maverick's, one's online." he said. His feelings reached his twin two floors above. Others from the 17th appeared, most of them in the same condition as X if not worse. We need to get her contained!" he exclaimed. He was holding a struggling Reploid in a death grip. He was highly damaged, left leg mangled, and his helmet obliterated. In a flash, silhouettes started to appear. "Preparing to transfer the 17th and survivors in three, two, one!" the operator exclaimed. Get ready, units with combat capabilities, stand by!" she ordered. "We need backup, there's infected Reploids coming in." he said, trying to stay calm. 'I don't know!' Hub caught up with his part of the medic team. 'There's Mavericks?! How many, what condition?' ![]() The twin link activated, and with Lifesaver's medic crew, Hub's eyes went wide. "Copy! Kzzzzt." he said just before the com system went dead. X's voice came through in one last burst. X, did you just say you're bringing in infected Reploids?" she asked. " Kzzt- Mav- kzzt- Security kzzt-" X said in between the bursts. The child Reploid worked at the keyboard, wincing. The smallest of the Navigators held his hand to his com.
